USAF Airworthiness Policy and Implementation

This course provides an overview of Air Force airworthiness processes and products. Students learn how USAF AW policy is followed in conducting assessments and issuing AW approvals for new platforms and modifications to existing platforms. Topics include AW planning, delegation, certification basis, compliance review, and risk acceptance.
Bio: Mr. Andrew Smith is the Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Airworthiness Technical Expert for the Air Force Lifecycle Management Center, Engineering Directorate, Airworthiness Office, at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio. He has more than 12 years of experience in UAS and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, working in the Air Force Research Laboratory and the MQ-9 Reaper program office.
