Department of Defense programs utilizing contractor owned/contractor operated aircraft services have seen a significant increase in the last 5 years. In order to meet this increased demand the United States Air Force (USAF) has modified its airworthiness (AW) procedures in order to assess COCO air systems in a consistent manner. The USAF AW Office released Airworthiness Bulletin (AWB)-340 in order to define this assessment process. This course provides an overview of COCO AW procedures found in AWB-340 as well as background information on definitions, statutes, and other policies related to COCO programs. As time and material permits, the Navy and Army COCO AW process may also be presented.
